Jung Shee Lacy - April 17, 2002

18 Daoist Palms gets deep into the psychic sciences for health and self defense. Building up faith and courage is the most important part of building up and maintaining a protective aura. The student learns to see colors in meditations, but more importantly learn to 'feel' auras. Psychic warfare or study of the protective aura is part and parcel of Five Elder Monk Mew Hing's 18 Daoist Palms System. We teach this to render ourselves immune to evil. In other words to protect ourselves from that which is impure (like power over others and glory for self,) from entering that which is pure or absolute love. So in essence this part of the student's training is a sort of iron body or hard hay gung for not only physical attacks, but mental, psychic and spiritual as well. This part of martial arts is so high level that few teachers have taught it in American martial arts.

In day to day living, our physical ability to protect our aura depends on chi kung and learning the metaphysics of color. This knowledge will help us ward off not only physical disease of others around us, but more or as important; from being susceptible to their negative thoughts and feelings.

In our chi kung of five elder lineage, we look at the color red we see with the inner eye during meditation at the beginner level. At this level we are concerned with health and physical strength. This we do by mental imaging the life preserving color reds. Our mental thoughts enhance this stage with focus on strength, power, confidence and absence of fear. If you have seen my aura on my website, you can see that auras are oval shaped and we will refer to this imaginary 3 foot circumference around us as our 'Auric Circle.'

Almost simultaneously with introducing the student to these concepts is the practice of charging the aura with vibrations of mental protection. Orange, yellow and combinations of them of similar color orange and yellow, are the colors of intellect. When the consciousness is charged and flooded with them, (orange and yellow and their similar colors,) we can use this form of chi to ward off efforts of the evil to use powers to convince us to go against our own free will. Whether through pseudo-clever ploys of sophistical arguments, plausible reasoning or false impressions etcetera, these colors give the meditator a type of rapid reasoning and quick judgment; sort of an 'edge' to repartee and answer.

During chi kung, the right mental attitude of faith, courage, inner peace and humor will flood your aura with the orange/yellow vibration. This is a 'tool' to repel the negativity of others so as to be like water slipping from the back of a duck.

With more practice one learns to 'pretend' until it becomes real. When assaulted by the intellect or arguments of others, the mental image of your head being surrounded by a golden aura or halo forms a sort of psychic helmet.

There is another level in psychic protection called 'protection of one's emotional nature.' We often trust and act on our emotions. Just remember that courage must be tempered with reason. For legal purposes remember that church and state are separate! If we can channel the important part our emotions play in telling us inwardly what 'feels' right or wrong for us, we will be able to use our powers of reason and intellect more efficiently. The color we use for this state is blue. Azure blue is the best. It is the emotional protection color. If good and evil were on a color spectrum, Jesus' colors would be azure blue and white and the devils red and black. That is taking the concept out to left field, but your columnist Jim Lacy likes to tip, not hip you. When we raise our mind and soul to this vibration, we leave the lower emotions and feelings to be transported into the higher realms of 'soul' where the lower vibrations cannot follow. Ponder this; nothing pollutes fire, and live cancer cells die in pure lemon juice. The blue colored aura protects from contamination of low passions and feelings of others, as in those of us subjected to evil influences (power over others and glory for self,) or by being polluted with lower emotions and desires. Study the myriad shades of blues occurring all around us in nature. Most of our great moral teachers, good priests, preachers and advanced martial art occultists are found to be charged with this clear blue as a protection to them when they come in contact with the many they try and serve. This color comes out in the third eye and eventually the entire egg shaped or oval auric circle during a seated 18 Daoist Palms' White Tiger Dim Mak seated preparatory meditation I do. Getting to this level is necessary in dim mak to according to legend, to bring one into such a state of love so as to be rendered absolutely immune from evil contamination on the emotional plane.

The Great Auric Circle

In 1968 I personally had a white light experience while meditating cross leg on a tree stump, in a beautiful park at night. I only mention it as a prelude to the conclusion of this short article. Basically I could see/feel with the 'inner eye,' the breathing of the earth, the tree stump I was on and the trees themselves. As I looked up I could see the breath of Tao in the sky itself. This is when the white light came from within me to actually take over sight 'outside' me. In my experience I only saw white light. My body, the earth, sky…all was just this all encompassing white light. It was a very personal religious experience that faded as my rational mind looked for 'answers.'

The final level of psychic warfare, or auric protection/healing, is referred to as the Great Auric Circle. To protect the soul, mind and body against outside psychic influences, directed consciously or unconsciously against us we learn this. As a novice trying to pretend or imagine the task at hand, which would be willing an aura of clear white light around us, 'feeling' results often comes before actually 'seeing' the white light experience itself. The feeling is as if you were being guarded by an angel.

The ability to Will White Light into your aura is the absolute highest level of psychic warfare defense 'missile shield,' against impurity from whomever or where ever it comes. This Christ Light is your greatest protection against evil. We need this knowledge to protect against malicious animal magnetism as in psychic vampirism or draining of magnetic strength. The white light is likened to lemon juice. It keeps the unwanted out but allows non evil good that you truly desire and is good for you to come into your reality. So, remember the old saying "be careful what you ask for." In this case you learn discernment of spirit. Sometimes with experiencing white light and wanting to 'let something you feel or desire in,' there is a principle you should be aware of. The principle is simple; if what you want is not good for your soul - oftentimes angels of The Lord intercede on our behalf to help us choose wisely.

The highest martial teaching is that getting to this white light level should never be used for attack or for personal gain, but rather as a protection against outside psychic influences the soul protests. It is the armor of the soul. One of the fighting forms housed within the 18 Daoist Palms System is called "Dropping the Soul Fist." There is another called the "Skylight Fist." One last interestingly named form is Nar Jar Fist. Nar Jar was an extraterrestrial angelic child that appeared on earth to ward off evil.

Happy Trails!
